Product Description

Sandwox sanding belts are ideal for use on many surfaces, including wood, metal, and fiberglass. This sanding belt was specially developed for surface leveling or moderate stripping. The heavy duty cloth backing is coated with extremely durable abrasive mineral, which stays sharp resulting in less surface burning, a more consistent sanded surface, and a longer life.

  • Flexible cloth backing offers conformability ideal for pump sleeve sanding on material.
  • Durable resin bond resists heat, extending the life of the belt.
  • Anti-static treatment on the belt keeps dust from clogging the belt or covering the workpiece.
  • Open coat construction and static resistance help evacuate dust and debris for longer belt life and more aggressive cut.

Belt Joint

Belt joint is a very imprtant factor for sanding belts performance. These joints must be as strong as the actual sanding material and should not be too thick or too thin compared to the sanding material. The belt should also have the right shape and dimension.

Butt Joint

Usually used for the sanding belts that require strength and flexibility at the same time, a joint is cut through the sanding belt without an overlap and the joint is attached with special tape on the backing side. The special tape can be attached the belt backing firmly after pressed by the machine.

Overlapped Joint

It is the most common joint for sanding belts with cloth backing. This type of the joint is an overlapping joint with compensation on the sand side. This means that the joint palce is free of abrasive material which allows the cloth to overlap without the joint having to be thicker than the rest of the belt.
